Villa Fabiola

Fabiola Aisyah Damirie is a fashion designer from Indonesia. She owns a brand called FLIRT. Ask any high society resident of Jakarta, and they will tell you that not only do they know her, but they have at least one of her designs in their closet…

That piece, most likely, is the SUMBA dress, which has become her signature classic.

Hand embroidered or hand beaded (or both), it is based on a traditional tribal pattern from the Indonesian island of Sumba. Made in limited numbers, this modern piece of re-interpreted tribal culture is typical of Fabiola’s style… a mix – an exotic cocktail – of sexy modernity and graphic tradition.

It’s a signature she uses in all her design endeavours, including her own house in Bali.

Villa Fabiola is Fabiola in 3D. Villa Fabiola is tropical, modern, clean, minimal, and yet… it is packed with history, tradition, and culture.

Entrance

In fashion, it’s important to make an entrance. It sets the tone… make a statement. The entrance to Villa Fabiola follows the same approach. It is different, unusual, and theatrical but it is also pared down and minimal; an architectural balancing act… using sculpture art, landscaping, and empty space to create a sense of intrigue and anticipation……..

Living Room

The massive vertical art front door opens to reveal an all-white living room… framed by a green sea. A pristine space inside opening onto the waving grass of a monumental rice field vista outside.

Dining and Kitchen

A kitchen that doesn’t look or feel like a kitchen. A dining room that feels like a gallery… set for lunch.

Cooking in this kitchen feels like a studio experience, facing the rice field, even boiling an egg feels special.

The Pool Terrace

Seamless… is the word that comes to mind. A seamless transition from inside to outside. Everything is the same. Unified by the one floor that runs throughout the house.

In the living room, the dining room, the stairs, the terrace… even inside the pool. There is only one surface and that is a polished, soft white terrace.

The Stairs

The Villa Fabiola staircase is not just about going up or down… It’s all about how you go up and down:

With style, with surprise, with creativity…

With art!

Make stairs a real part of the house. Who does that?

The Guestrooms

The approach to the bedroom suites for guests was simple. Make them beautiful, spacious, and comfortable.

Like a five star hotel… but better. The best mattress in the industry, the most beautiful sheets, down pillows, big closets, and a beautiful big bathroom with a full length mirror and a power shower.

The Master Bedroom

Taking up the entire top floor of the house, this master bedroom is not a bedroom. It’s a penthouse apartment with a sweeping view of rice fields, volcanoes, and ocean from every angle.
